Hudson Valley Community College will hold its annual Homecoming weekend festivities Friday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023. Most events are open to the public; please note where RSVPs are required.

FRIDAY, OCT. 6

  • Homecoming Reception (Ticket and RSVP required)
    5 p.m.
    Join Hudson Valley President Roger A. Ramsammy and the Hudson Valley Community College Alumni Association for a formal homecoming reception for alumni at the Gordon ’62 & Linda Zuckerman Alumni House. Tickets are required and proceeds will benefit alumni initiatives at the college. Please RSVP by September 29, 2023 at 1i.landaiztc.com/alumni to attend.

SATURDAY, OCT. 7

  • 14th Annual Race Away Stigma 5K Run and Fun Walk
    8:30 - 11 a.m.
    Students, faculty and staff of Hudson Valley Community College, along with members of the community, are invited to participate in the Race Away Stigma 5K Race and Fun Walk to make others aware of the stigma associated with mental illness.   • Distinguished Alumni Brunch (RSVP required)
    11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    The program celebrates alumni for notable contributions within their career fields and communities. This year’s honorees include Neil Kelleher ‘91, Orville Abrahams ‘87, Dr. Sohaib Chekima ‘04, Manik Elahi ‘17, Gayle Healy ‘91, Susan C. McDonough ‘93, Brian Sano ‘05, and George W. Whalen ‘69.   • Tailgate Party and BBQ
    11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    The Tailgate BBQ will be held at the picnic area by the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Alumni, students, faculty and staff, and community members are invited to enjoy free music, food and beverages, and giveaways prior to the Homecoming football game.
  • Homecoming Football Game
    Noon - 3 p.m.
    The Vikings football team will take on Erie Community College as they continue to work towards a Region 3 Championship.

SUNDAY, OCT. 8

  • Volleyball Quad Match
    11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
    The Vikings volleyball team will face off against Herkimer College at 11 a.m. and Mohawk Valley Community College at 12:45 p.m. in the McDonough Sports Complex.
